Preparation for a audit underway by Richardson County Administrator

Since becoming the Administrator on March 1st, Gary Jorn has been reviewing financial records and updating city records, including sales tax revenues and projects funded by tax increment financing. Progress is being made on a downtown electrical project to place power lines underground and update electrical service, with City Councilman Derek Leyden encouraging residents to observe the progress. The contractor, Watts Electric, has discovered electric transformers dating back over 60 years, some of which will be donated to linemen’s schools for study. Leyden emphasized the importance of these upgrades, funded through bonding and a sales tax increase, to ensure the city’s power grid remains reliable.
