NODAWAY COUNTY —Three people avoided serious injury after an accident just before 7:30a.m. Tuesday in Nodaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Ram 3500 driven by a 41-year-old Springfield man was westbound on U.S. 136 at Apollo Road three miles west of Burlington Junction. The driver lost control when the pickup struck a patch of black ice. The vehicle crossed the center line, traveled off the south side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
Nodaway County EMS check the driver and two passengers including a 34-year-old Roby man and a 25-year-old Galena man at the scene. All three refused transport for treatment. The 34-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
