The City of Rock Port has placed barricades around the former Rock Port Market due to its deteriorating condition, which poses a safety risk. The building, owned by a deceased individual in Florida, is starting to collapse on the back side along the alley. Mayor JR Chaney emphasized the need to protect residents, visitors, and nearby businesses by creating a safety perimeter around the structure. The decision to restrict vehicle and foot traffic around the building was made out of caution to prevent potential injuries.
