Northwest Infrastructure Project Enters Final Phase

Northwest Missouri State University is entering the final phase of its $105 million infrastructure modernization project this summer. University officials say the work will complete the campus transition from a centralized steam system to decentralized hot water heating plants and include HVAC upgrades in several buildings. Students, employees and visitors should expect temporary building, road and sidewalk closures as construction continues. The project also calls for the demolition of the John C. Redden Jr. Power Plant, a campus fixture dating back to 1910. New heating plants and cooling systems are expected to provide more reliable and efficient utility service across campus.
