A mother in Bethany, Missouri has filed a civil lawsuit and criminal charges against the South Harrison County R-II School District, alleging failure to provide special education services and allowing bullying that led to her daughter developing anorexia and insomnia. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education found the district non-compliant in providing education to the mother’s son with autism and ADHD. The mother has spent over $13,000 on an advocate and sent two children out of state due to the situation.
