DOR urges residents to report ongoing scam messages

The Missouri Department of Revenue is cautioning residents about scam text messages claiming to be from them or the “Missouri DMV.” These messages falsely warn recipients about overdue traffic tickets and threaten penalties if immediate payment is not made. The fraudulent messages often contain links to websites that may appear official but are designed to collect personal or financial information. Missourians are advised not to click on any links in suspicious text messages and to report them as spam. The Department has created a webpage to inform customers about reported scams and alerts.
