Northwest Missouri State University will host a public forum to discuss the mechanics and impact of upcoming Missouri ballot initiatives at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.
The event, which is free and open to the community, will be held in the second-floor Living Room of the J.W. Jones Student Union.
As Missouri residents prepare for the upcoming midterm elections, the discussion aims to demystify the initiative process. Featured speakers include:
- Dr. Jessica Gracey: A Northwest associate professor of political science and civic engagement specialist.
- Dr. Nancy Zeliff: A retired Northwest professor currently serving as the St. Joseph regional field and outreach director for Respect Missouri Voters.
The presentation is co-sponsored by the Northwest Center for Policy and Civic Engagement and Respect Missouri Voters. Organizers say the primary goal is to provide students and local citizens with the tools to navigate complex ballot language and understand the legislative power held by voters.
