Tye Parsons is leaving the Maryville City Council after more than six years.
He submitted a letter of resignation to Mayor Dannen Merrill Monday, citing more time for his family.
But, that doesn’t mean that his seat will remain vacant until the next election. Previously, mid-term replacements have been handled similarly to a job application. According to City Manager Ryan Heiland, interested residents should be able to find applications on city social media soon.
